Per request from some potential buyers, I've removed the black lacquer frame. The frame was from the 1980s which did protect the rug beautifully.
An all silk rug that protected from sun and foot traffic, is in perfect condition.
As for dragons, they are a common Chinese motif that signify power and valiancy, determination, dignity and divinity. One of the dragons gifts is to help with water, drought and battle typhoons. Unlike western cultures, the Chinese dragon is a beloved, benevolent creature bestowing its goodness and power.
This piece measures 47 3/4” high by 27 1/2” wide. The fringe on either side is almost 3 " in length and perfect.
