I was walking through an estate sale and noticed this amazing figure. Kind of reminded me of Gustav Klimit’s painting, The Scream. Haunting, vulnerable, the figure stopped me dead in my tracks.
I have no idea where it came from although the Philippines have a knack for recreating stunning religious sculptures. Perhaps it’s from there?
Either way, it's worth sharing with the world. I love a strong, vulnerable figure, Jesus, non binary, woman, don’t you? I really can't tell?
Stands tall at 20” in height while the round base is 5” in diameter. The wood is not heavy. Painted eyes.
