This is a magnificent antique carved wooden, hand-painted icon from a Mexican church, circa 1870's. This piece has been in my family for 47 years, brought to this country by my father. The cross is 49" (inches) tall by 24" wide. Jesus is 26" tall by 21" wide. A beautiful crown of thorns rests gently on his head, which can also be removed for cleaning. As it is a used item, it does have hair cracks and minor chips which gives it it's charm and patina.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are in the Los Angeles area, local pick-up is encouraged. Please convo to discuss removing the shipping for local pick-up prior to purchase. As this is a somewhat larger piece, shipping needs to be discussed. There are many options although USPS is not encouraged. Too expensive do to odd size packaging and weight. Never the less, Greyhound does a fantastic job (this piece would be properly double boxed with extra bubble wrap) and would end up at your local depot! We've done this before!
