Vintage from the 1970s

A beautiful, handwoven bag from the Gran Chaco region of South America. This area, between Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay is territory that was often disputed during colonial times.

The Gran Chaco was occupied by indigenous nomadic peoples who resisted Spanish control and attempted to maintain their nomadic lifestyle.

Beautifully designed in a varying neutral brown fibers, you can see not only the texture but the organic strands of material that make this a stand out piece. It's lined with simple, black cotton and has a metal zipper.

Woven and put together for the tourist trade decades ago, I’ve been fortunate enough to take this little piece of gorgeousness out of the closet and share it with you!

Measures 9 1/4” in length by 7” wide. The strap is 6 1/8” long.
