Aristide Maillol is an artist whose work I have been collecting for the last 25 years. Hence I am very partial to his work. A French sculptor, painter, tapestry and printmaker, the majority of his work focused on the female body. Maillol had a modern, ethereal yet classical approach that made the female forms almost leap off the page. His most well known sculpture is Air, a bronze woman leaning languidly in mid-air as if floating on a cloud, is one you've probably seen without realizing it had been made by this wondrous master. It rests at The Getty entrance in Los Angeles, CA. Three other bronzes can be found at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City.

This print measures 7 1/4 by 9 1/4 although, including the frame, it measures 12 inches wide by 15 inches in length.
